Bicycle Tours and bike rentals in Tulum

IGUANA BIKE SHOP is a store dedicated to bicycle rentals and tours through the jungle by bicycle at IGUANA BIKE SHOP. With each bike rental, you’ll receive insurance in case of an accident, a local map, bike lock, and rear safety light for biking safely at night.

Departs early everyday, pedaling through the jungle to see the best CENOTES and CAVES in area, and snorkel in their crystal clear waters. They also offer tours of various routes and distances. This beautiful state has no mountains, so the bicycle trips are simple and easily accessible.

Biosphere of Sian Ka’an

Sian Ka’an means, “Where the sky is born” in Mayan, and is a national reserve in the heart of Quintana Roo’s golden coastline.  The Biosphere Center operates using ecologically responsible technologies, including systems for wetland waste management, rainwater collection, and wind and solar energy generation. It also offers educational outreach programs and conducts important biological research. CESiaK provides a model for other sustainable development projects as well as an informational resource for the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.

Mayan Ruins – Tulum Experience the breathtaking and mysterious history of the Mayans here from the post classical period 900-1200 AD.. The photo at the top of this page is of beautiful ruins overlooking the beach at Tulum. Several tours are available, or explore on your own–a photographer’s dream. Tulum is the most magnificent Mayan ruins on the Caribbean Sea. The main pyramid, El Castillo, sits on a 10-meter cliff and has an impressive view of the Caribbean. The pyramid is also aligned with a natural break in the world’s second largest barrier reef and functioned as a lighthouse  for Mayan boats. Tulum means, “walled city.” It encompasses the temple complex  and a sacred cenote.  There is a large market at the entrance,  and bargaining is expected.
